What Are You Reading?

Today is Monday, March 22, 2010...and welcome to this week's edition of It's Monday, What Are You Reading, hosted by the slam dunkin', three point-shootin', master at drawing the foul, Sheila at One Person's Journey Through a World of Books.  It's March Madness, you know!

This week, I had several people give me looks, or come right out and ask me, "What the HELL are you reading?"  See below to judge for yourself - was I the crazy one, or was I surrounded by a bunch of stark raving loonies?

Books I Completed This Week: (Hey, I was busy!)

Books I am Currently Reading:

Books I Plan To Read This Week (also known as the books I know I should be reading, and will unless something else catches the interest of my ADD brain):

Yes, I saw the Wimpy Kid movie this weekend with a couple of very cool 7 year old boys - who both agreed that the book was better than the movie (I couldn't have been more proud!!!).  I'll do a movie review this week.

I am loving the Maze Runner, like you all said I would.  I'm just not quite finished with it yet.  Keep you eyes out for a review!

I'm limiting myself to three books as my goal this week, since I plan to savour every word of The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest.  It came on Saturday, and I can't wait to dive in!

No, I don't usually meet my reading goals, and I'm ok with that.  Books that were on my TBR list three weeks ago are still sitting on my shelf unread.  I'll get to them, I promise, but people keep giving me really cool books to read, and I get sidetracked.   Forgive me!

Happy reading, all!

I loved the Maze Runner and can't wait for the sequel. I have yet to read any of the Wimpy Kids, but I know my 2nd grader loves them (he reads on a 5th grade level), and my 8th graders are always choosing them, so I am going to check them out for myself soon.

Haven't read any of the books you mention, but they all sound interesting. I did read the first Narnia book when I was younger, but didn't like it enough to continue with the series. Maybe I should give it another try now that I'm older and wiser! Have fun reading this week.

I agree with those ulta hip 7 year olds! Diary of a Wimpy Kid the book was much better than the movie, but I did think the movie was good.

Enjoy the book!

My son absolutely loves the Wimpy kid books. When I arrived home with Dog Days on Sunday from the library, he dove in and I haven't seen him since (lol). I had to secretly pull the book from his bag as he was going to school so he wouldn't lose it. He was not happy when he got home today.

Enjoy your reading week!

Thanks all for stopping by!

I am having a hard time putting The Maze Runner down!

Doug - You're right. Great book AND Great movie (I'm writing the review, don't worry!). I do love it when a cartoonist puts together a great book ;) I couldn't be happier for Jeff Kinney that he has this huge following of kids in a tough age market. Boys love to read again! Nothing better!

Stephanie - My son's teacher is more than ok with the book coming to school, and I put his name on the inside cover just in case he loses it. What other books does your son like?

Yay for kids who prefer the book over a movie. I'm encouraged.
