World Book Night: April 23, 2012

The United States will participate in World Book Night for the first time this year!

World Book Night is an annual celebration designed to spread a love of reading and books. To be held in the U.S. as well as the U.K. and Ireland on April 23, 2012. It will see tens of thousands of people go out into their communities to spread the joy and love of reading by giving out free World Book Night paperbacks.

There will be ONE MILLION books given away in the United States on April 23, 2012.  And another million given away in the UK.

I think I've only read The Book Thief by Markus Zuzak out of those!

I got stuck in the application process, when it asked how I planned to distribute them ... I didn't know where I'd find non- or infrequent readers. I asked the question on twitter, and the World Book Night blog had several suggestions.

BEL CANTO was my #1 choice, what's yours?!
